Updated Computerized Bookkeeping System (CBSII)

Enhanced Features A Plus For Local Unions

The recently updated Computerized Bookkeeping System (CBSII) has a variety of enhanced features, which will aid local unions in maintaining their financial records and preparing financial reports.

CBSII offers functionality not previously available in the original CBS while retaining those internal accounting controls necessary to ensure that prior bookkeeping periods cannot be altered subsequent to producing the Trustees Report.

Some of the new and future CBSII enhancements include the following:

  • A definitive bookkeeping period, with no changes permitted to accounting periods that have been closed.

  • Built-in functions designed to allow voucher distribution to the new LM-2 Functional Allocation Categories.

  • CBSII will provide vendor listings containing information necessary to determine if an Initial Itemization Page is required for each of the functional categories or if the amount listed must be entered as an Other Disbursement on the Detailed Summary Page.

  • Ability to import month-end close out totals from the TITAN system into the CBSII system thereby eliminating the need to manually enter those figures.

  • Enhanced capability to produce and print the monthly Trustee Report in its final form.

There are approximately 200 of our local unions that are using or have been scheduled to be trained on the new CBSII system.

For more information or to set up a training session on the CBSII system, contact the Office of the General Secretary-Treasurer.
